Hello all!I wan…

Hello all!

I wanted to send out a reminder that winter retreat forms and payments are due by the end of this month.  I have about 25 signed up, but have only received two forms and one payment.  We need a minimum of 15 in order to make the trip a reality.  You can download the form here and either bring them, or mail them to the church: Breandan McTighe Winter Retreat 500 N. Ridgeview Dr. Warrensburg, MO 64093.  Checks can be maid payable to Northside Christian Church.  All checks will be held until we are sure we are going.  If you want to inquire about scholarships, or have any other questions, give me a call at 660-351-5404.  Also, if you mail me the forms and/or a check, please either call, or email me (breandan@northsidechristianchurch.com) to let me know that it’s on the way!  Thank you all, and I am excited about this trip, both for the good times that we are going to have, and with the depth of spiritual growth we can expect!

Grace and Peace,

Breandan Mctighe

Newsletter Startup!

Hello friends,

Guess what, NorthsideSM’s Senior High is starting a newsletter!  Well, it is actually a blog that will automatically feed itself into a newsletter once a month.  This is especially cool because you will be able to check out this blog throughout the month to see what is new with Northside Student Ministry’s Senior High Schoolers.  Just check out SHnorthsideSM.wordpress.com to stay connected.

For the month of December we have a few updates.  First off, we want to let you know that Pulse Beat, Pulse Air, and Pulse Flow are in full swing.

Focuses (teachings):

Sunday morning during Pulse Air we are going to be starting a new focus titled “Collide.”  This focus is all about what happens when we allow ourselves to collide with Christ.  Parent cues will be available on the Landing outside of the Worship Center, or on the “Forms” page at http://www.NorthsideSM.com.

Sunday nights, during Pulse Beat, we will be finishing up a focus entitled “Examples to live by,” and moving on to the two week focus of “Clarifying Christmas.”

In case you were wondering Pulse Flow is the name of our small groups programing.  We have started three small groups meeting on Tuesday nights, Wednesday nights, and hope to start a fourth meeting on Saturday morning soon.  The whole point of these small groups is to take the students deep into their faith and bring it to the world through service.

With that said, here are some events to look forward to in the month of December:

Events:

Pulse Beat is going to be having a Christmas Party before taking a two week break.  The Christmas Party is scheduled for December 18th at 6:00 PM in the upper room.  We will be having a white elephant gift exchange.  We want all to come though, with our without a gift!

Pulse Flow will be heading out for our first service project.  We are going to be going Caroling for canned goods!  This will take place on the 16th of December from 6:00 to 7:30PM.

Off Days:

Pulse Beat (Sunday Night) will not meet on the 25th of December or the 1st of January.

Pulse Air (Sunday Morning) will not meet on Christmas day.  Instead we will be having abbreviated family services in the worship center.

For Your Radar:

Winter Retreat is coming!  On the 6th and 7th of January the Senior High will be taking a winter retreat to the Northern Kansas City area.  We will be staying at the Embassy Suits in Kansas City for the night, and traveling 18miles away to Weston, MO for some skiing and snowboarding.  Jodi Riley from Forum Blvd. Christian Church in Columbia will be our guest speaker!  The cost per student for the retreat is $85 dollars.  If you would like to sponsor a student(s) yourself, or with a group of people, or have questions about Winter Retreat, contact Breandan McTighe at breandan@northsidechristianchurch.com or at 660-913-6182.

That’s all for now everyone!  Keep  in mind that if you have any questions you can write them in the comments section on our blog, call, or email.  It’s going to be a great December!  Merry Christmas until next time.
